The Conference will bring together representatives from international and regional human rights organisations, members of national parliaments of EU member states, international and local civil society organisations, Nobel Peace Prize laureates, young voices from around the world as well as MEPs and chairs of Parliament’s committees to address human rights challenges.
EP President Roberta Metsola will open the event, followed by keynote speeches by Volker Türk, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and Jutta Urpilainen, Commissioner for International Partnerships. Heidi Hautala, Vice-President of the European Parliament, will close the Conference.
The Conference will host two panels:
– Panel 1: 75th anniversary of the UDHR – What makes human rights universal?
– Panel 2: Working together to meet the challenges of our times
