(PRESS RELEASE) LUXEMBOURG, 29-Oct-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European American Chamber of Commerce New York (EACCNY) have launched the Transatlantic Resilient Infrastructure Alliance (TRIA), a strategic partnership to enhance infrastructure financing in low- and middle-income countries. By pooling the expertise and resources of transatlantic players, TRIA will facilitate collaboration among banks, institutional investors, and industry leaders in Europe and the United States. The alliance aims to develop sustainable financing models, identify priority infrastructure projects, and bolster global resilience efforts across sectors such as digital, energy, transport, health, and education.

Regular meetings between EIB and EACCNY members will focus on bridging financing gaps and addressing emerging infrastructure challenges. Markus Berndt, Head of the EIB’s Washington Representation, emphasized that this collaboration will strengthen ties with private sector partners and enhance infrastructure investment strategies for developing regions. EACCNY Executive Director Yvonne Bendinger-Rothschild highlighted the alliance’s potential to accelerate investment in essential infrastructure by combining public and private financing and expertise.

Aligned with the EU’s Global Gateway strategy and the G7 Partnership for Global Infrastructure, TRIA promotes sustainable investment guided by EU and international standards, creating a platform for impactful cross-border cooperation. Through this partnership, EIB Global and EACCNY aim to address the substantial global infrastructure needs of our time by fostering transatlantic collaboration and resource sharing.
