Experian Introduces Virtual I-9 Form Completion to Enhance Onboarding and Ensure Compliance

(IN BRIEF) Experian has launched a new virtual Section 2 service to simplify and streamline the completion of Form I-9 for employers. This solution helps employers verify new employees’ eligibility to work in the U.S. without requiring in-person meetings, addressing challenges such as remote work and scheduling conflicts. The service allows new hires to complete Section 2 via a video call with an Experian expert, ensuring a seamless, compliant process. The solution is part of Experian’s broader Employer Services offering, which provides critical solutions for HR, payroll, and tax professionals.

(PRESS RELEASE) DUBLIN, 30-Jan-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Experian® has unveiled a new virtual Section 2 service to simplify the completion of Form I-9, enhancing the onboarding process for employers while reducing compliance risks. The service, supported by Experian’s team of highly trained experts and government-approved technology, offers a more efficient way to verify the eligibility of new hires to work in the U.S.

Form I-9, which is essential for confirming an employee’s authorization to work, has traditionally required in-person meetings between employers and new employees to verify documents. However, with approximately 22 million people working from home, a number that represents around 14% of the workforce according to Pew Research Center, this in-person requirement has become impractical for many employers. Experian’s new solution addresses these challenges, offering a virtual alternative that removes geographical and scheduling obstacles.

Anne Obee, Vice President of Experian Employer Services, emphasized, “By offering a virtual Section 2 completion option, we are helping employers streamline the onboarding process, ensuring compliance, and creating a more positive experience for new hires. Our service helps employers avoid costly penalties while meeting the demands of a digital workforce.”

Through the enhanced I-9 Management solution, employers using E-Verify can now provide new hires the option to complete Section 2 of Form I-9 via a short video call with an Experian expert. During this call, the new hire will present the required documents, and the Experian agent will finalize the I-9 form. Once completed, the form is automatically submitted, ensuring a seamless and compliant process.

Experian’s Employer Services business is designed to offer HR, payroll, and tax professionals the critical tools they need for a more efficient and effective service experience.
