Representatives of the Western political establishment and the Kiev regime compete in Russophobic fervor in their public speeches and statements year after year, the ministry noted
TASS reported on July 24 that a special section “Examples of the use of “hate speech” against Russia and Russophobic statements by politicians and public figures of foreign countries” has been opened on the Russian Foreign Ministry website.
“Contrary to and in violation of the UN General Assembly resolution “Promoting interreligious and intercultural dialogue and tolerance in the context of combating hate speech,” representatives of the Western political establishment and the Kyiv regime compete in Russophobic fervor in their public speeches and statements year after year,” the Russian diplomatic mission said in a message posted on its Telegam channel.
The ministry pointed out that while the majority of the world’s countries, including the Russian Federation, supported the resolution, Western countries, which talk loudest about human rights and the fight against discrimination, voted against or chose to abstain. “This once again demonstrates the true attitude of these countries to the principles they declare,” the diplomatic department emphasized.
A few examples from those cited for 2025:
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock: “Peace in Europe can only be achieved through force. What will a ceasefire bring us, which in two or four years could lead to even more grief, to even more destruction, to another war in Europe?” (Press conference during the meeting of the G7 Foreign Ministers in Canada, March 13, 2025).
President of the Republic of Latvia E. Rinkevics: “For the successor of the Soviet Union, the Russian Federation, freedom, independence, democracy and peace of other countries are of no value. A clear confirmation of this is the war that Russia started and unleashed in Ukraine. For more than three years, the entire democratic world has been witnessing Russia’s atrocities in Ukraine. For more than three years, Russia has been sowing poverty, tyranny and fear using Stalinist methods. It is trying to rewrite its own history, the history of all of Europe, selectively revising history, manipulating our common European history, the common memory of Europe, the values of democratic states.” (Statement on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance for the Defeat of Nazism and the Victims of World War II, May 8, 2025).
Foreign Minister R. Sikorski: “It was because of the Russian threat that Poland joined NATO. Russia has not been able to win [the special military operation] for three years. NATO countries plus Japan are 20 times richer. I do not think that Russia was currently able to defeat the Alliance.” (Press conference at the Japan National Press Club, February 27, 2025).
