    Media Freedom Act: press conference on Parliament’s demands | News

    MEPs Sabine VERHEYEN (EPP, DE), lead rapporteur, and Ramona Strugariu (Renew, RO), opinion rapporteur for LIBE, will discuss key aspects of the proposals with journalists.

    When: Tuesday 3 October, 13.30-14.00 CEST.

    Where: Daphne Caruana Galizia press conference room (WEISS N -1/201), European Parliament in Strasbourg and via Interactio.

    Interpretation will be available in English, French, German, Italian, Romanian and Spanish.

    Background

    In response to growing threats to editorial independence and the industry’s viability, MEPs will adopt their position on a draft law – the European Media Freedom Act – to strengthen the independence of EU media. You can read more about the new proposal in a recent briefing note by EP’s Research Service.
