White House Posts Image of Trump as the Mandalorian to Celebrate Star Wars Day

Is this the way?

The White House posted a new meme showing President Donald Trump depicted as the hero of Disney’s “The Mandalorian” and the upcoming movie “The Mandalorian and Grogu” — timed, of course, to May the 4th (aka “Star Wars Day”). Trump’s Mandalorian is accompanied by the alien child Grogu, aka “Baby Yoda,” and Trump is carrying an American flag.

“In a galaxy that demands strength – America stands ready. This is the way. May the 4th be with you,” the White House’s post on social media said.

In the image, Trump-as-Mandalorian is holding the bounty hunter’s helmet in his hand. And under ordinary circumstances, it’s a severe violation of the Mandalorian code to be seen bare-faced. However, there are certain loopholes that the Disney+ series has taken liberties with, as described in this ScreenRant article, as producers wanted to give Pedro Pascal (who plays the titular character) some actual screen time.

Variety has reached out to Walt Disney Studios for comment about the White House’s post.

“The Mandalorian and Grogu” is slated to hit theaters May 22, 2026. Jon Favreau directed the movie, which follows Pascal’s Din Djarin (aka Mando) and Grogu (formerly known as The Child) as they navigate a galaxy still recovering from the fall of the Empire. According to the official logline, the story is set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, with Imperial warlords still scattered throughout the galaxy. The fledgling New Republic works to protect what the Rebellion fought for and turns to the legendary bounty hunter and his young apprentice for help.
