Watch Ariana Grande joined by Ty Dolla $ign for ‘Safety Net’ in Brooklyn

Ariana Grande brought out Ty Dolla $ign for a surprise performance of ‘Safety Net’ during her latest ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour date – watch footage below.

The pop star played the third night of her five-show residency at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Thursday (July 16), as part of her first headline tour since 2019.

During ‘Safety Net’, which appears in the third act of the show, Ty Dolla $ign emerged through the door of the elaborate house constructed on stage, prompting huge cheers from the crowd.

The pair then performed their 2020 collaboration together, which originally appeared on Grande’s sixth album ‘Positions‘, with Ty telling Grande afterwards: “The queen, Ari. Love you, thank you!”

After the show, Ty appeared to tease another collaboration between the pair. Sharing an image on his Instagram Stories of Grande being lifted into the air during the finale of ‘Supernatural’, he wrote: “to be continued…..”

Grande is due to return to the Barclays Center tonight (July 18) and tomorrow (July 19), before taking the ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour to Boston for three shows at TD Garden.

The tour kicked off in Oakland, California last month and marks her first full live run since the ‘Sweetener’ world tour concluded in 2019. Its setlist largely centres on 2024 album ‘Eternal Sunshine’ and its expanded edition, ‘Brighter Days Ahead’, alongside tracks from across her career.

Grande will bring the tour to the UK next month for a 10-night residency at The O2 in London across August and September. Find any remaining tickets here.

The shows come ahead of the release of Grande’s eighth studio album, ‘Petal’, which is due to arrive on July 31 via Republic Records (pre-order here). She recently revealed the full tracklist for the album after unveiling the song titles during a show at the Kia Forum.

The record has so far been previewed by lead single ‘Hate That I Made You Love Me’, and has been described by Grande as being “full of life” and “growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging”.

The album comes after Grande reassured fans last year that she was not “abandoning” music while continuing to focus on acting. She is due to appear in the comedy sequel Focker-In-Law alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, and will head to London’s West End in 2027 to star in Sunday In The Park With George opposite Jonathan Bailey.

She also recently pulled out of the upcoming 13th season of American Horror Story after its production schedule was moved and came into conflict with the ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour.
