Pilot projects have started at Herzogenaurach and Schweinfurt in Germany, where initial charging points are being installed, with further expansions planned by 2025. The project reflects Schaeffler’s commitment to sustainability and reducing CO2 emissions.

    (PRESS RELEASE) HERZOGENAURACH, 10-Aug-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Schaeffler, a leading motion technology company, is advancing its commitment to sustainability by expanding its global charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. As part of this initiative, the company plans to install more than 5,000 new charging points worldwide by 2030, with 3,000 of these located in Europe. This expansion is a key component of Schaeffler’s broader sustainability program.

    Pilot projects have already begun at Schaeffler’s Herzogenaurach and Schweinfurt locations in Germany. At Herzogenaurach, 40 charging points have been installed as part of a parking lot redevelopment, with plans to add 245 more by 2025. In Schweinfurt, the electrical infrastructure is being upgraded to accommodate 122 new charging points, also expected to be operational by 2025.

    Andreas Schick, Chief Operating Officer of Schaeffler AG, emphasized the company’s dedication to sustainability and e-mobility, stating, “We are committed to reducing our CO2 emissions and enhancing our role as a sustainable employer.
